Offered is a striking vintage censored cover from Melbourne, Australia to Egypt, probably from the World War II era. The envelope bears a red censor label “Opened by Censor 3,” a Melbourne cancellation, and a postage stamp from Australia (2½d King George VI issue). The recipient address is Alexandria, Egypt (Barclays Bank). The envelope also features censorship handstamps and tape, including an “ORIGINAL” violet handstamp, and Arabic / Egyptian censor markings on the back. This cover exemplifies wartime postal censorship, international mail routes, and Commonwealth postal history. It’s especially attractive for collectors of military / censorship / postal history topics, Australia postal history, and Middle Eastern mail. The condition shows light age wear, but the markings are clear and legible. You will receive: The censored cover as seen in photos High definition scans of front and back Secure packaging for mailing Feel free to request more photos or information about the cancel, censor tape, or back markings before buying.
